Manjistha is a perennial herbal plant, which is known for its blood purifying properties. It is also known for its lymphatic support. According to Ayurveda, blood (rakta) and the lymph (rasa) are the tissues that become congested if our body isn’t properly detoxing. The plant acts powerfully on the circulatory system, the arterial system and also on the skin. Manjistha calms down aggravated pitta, which fragments the congested kapha. Imbalances that are aggravated due to pitta in the body, particularly those associated with blood are supported by Manjistha.

Most of us are not aware of the importance of our lymphatic system, which eliminates the wastes from the body, regulates, and controls the immune system. If one leads a sedentary lifestyle, then our lymphatic system will gradually slow down. When our lymphatic system becomes lethargic, people generally complain of exhaustion, sore throat, fatigue, puffy feet and hands, skin conditions and weight gain. Manjistha is an herb, which supports the natural and healthy functioning of the lymphatic system thereby giving nutrition to the cells and removes waste from the body.
As menstrual issues are also due to congested lymph, the herb helps in supporting the reproductive system, especially in the childbearing years. Due to its positive effect on the lymph, the herb is considered beneficial for supporting the skin and alleviating skin problems such rashes, itchiness and acne breakouts.
