The term Milia is also used for referring to milk spots. These are like little white or yellowish bumps which occur near the areas of the eyes. They sometimes happen under the eyes but can spread to other parts of the face too. They are keratin-filled cysts, which are not really harmful. It is seen most commonly in babies and goes away in some weeks, but it can happen in adults too when it tends to stay along for years.

Steam

This is one of the best home remedies available for the problem. You just have to make sure that you get a steaming machine or use steam from a vessel or bowl. Cover the face with a towel to prevent the steam from getting out. Then once the milia is softer, you just have to rub it gently with either a towel or even cotton ball to take it out. Do this 2 times a day for 1 week to see changes.

It may sound strange but a home facial could be the perfect trick for getting rid of the stubborn milia. A home facial includes a good massage, followed by some exfoliating agent and of course a hot facial sauna. The combination of these three techniques helps the milia fall of naturally without much fuss.

Apply some honey on the area, twice a day. Doing so helps the milia to fall off without much trouble. It has also been seen that applying honey on the area prevents the same from coming back very fast. Make your own DIY peel off mask using some egg whites, a spoon of gelatin and some honey and orange juice. Mix ingredients well enough so that the gelatin dissolves well. Let it dry and then peel off the mask.

Once they are dry, take them off the heat and crush them well. You can add some rose water to it along with lemon juice. The duo helps in balancing acidity for getting rid of the keratin deposit. This is a gentle scrub that is known for healing the milia and also getting rid of it the natural way. For this pack, mix together 2 spoons each of coarse almond meal combined with coarse rice flour. Make a scrub by mixing together 2-3 spoons of brown sugar, one spoon honey and few drops of lime juice. Scrub for about 10-15 minutes daily to get rid of the scrub.
