All of us across age long for thick, lustrous hair. Hair becomes thin due to various reasons such as hereditary, stress, medications, hormonal changes and excessive hair styling. Let us focus on the natural treatment to make hair thick. Primarily eating a balanced diet, stress-free life and regularly massaging the scalp with warm oil can prevent hair thinning. It is humanly impossible to follow a stress-free life always. Hence we have recommended some effective and quick remedies for hair thinning.
1. Indian Gooseberry
Vitamin C present in Indian Gooseberry prevents thinning of hair. Drinking fresh Indian Gooseberry juice for long lasting thick hair. Vitamin C boosts the collagen level of your hair. It makes your hair flexible thus preventing hair from damage. Take 2 to 3 Indian Gooseberry and grind it to paste. Heat it in low flame with coconut oil till the color of oil changes. Allow it to cool. Massage this oil into hair and rinse with a mild shampoo after 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can use Indian Gooseberry powder for yielding the same results.
2. Castor Oil
Massage Castor oil into the scalp with your fingers to stimulate blood flow. This speeds up the release of nutrients to hair follicles. Eventually, this leads to thick hair. Mix castor oil and honey apply on scalp and massage before you wash it with a shampoo. Doing this every alternate day can help you regenerate the hair follicles.
3. Curry Leaves
Curry leaves consist of Proteins, Beta-carotene, and vitamin B6 that prevent the hair from thinning. Consuming raw curry leaves on a daily basis promotes hair growth. Wash your hair twice a week with curry leaves hair pack. Take a handful of curry leaves and henna leaves. Grind it to paste using a mixer. Squeeze the juice from it. Mix with oil in the ratio of 1:2. Heat it on low flame till all water evaporates from oil. Cool and store it for daily use. Oil can be coconut oil, olive oil or sesame oil. Except coconut oil using other oil requires a hair wash after a couple of hours.
4. Fish Oil
Due to the presence of high level of omega3 fatty acids in fish oil, it helps in hair thickening. Unlike other oils, fish oil cannot be applied on the hair due to its strong smell. Consider eating oil extracted from fish such as lake trout, albacore tuna, sardines, salmon, herring, and mackerel to your diet to rejuvenate your cells that promote hair growth. Also, fish oil capsules available in the market can be used for hair growth.
5. Egg
Egg yolk is packed with protein, vitamins, and fatty acids that make it an ideal source for treating thin hair. Mix the white of one egg with one teaspoon of olive oil, one teaspoon mild shampoo and juice from the half lemon. Beat thoroughly to give a paste-like consistency. Apply this to the entire scalp and hair. Leave it for 30 minutes. Then rinse with cool water. Repeat this every week for best results.
6. Fenugreek Seeds
Soak a handful of fenugreek seeds in water for 8 hours or overnight. Drain the water and make to paste in the morning and apply on your hair and scalp. Leave it for 2 hours. Then wash your hair. You can actually feel your hair lustrous and thick.
7. Carrot
Carrot fights hair loss naturally. The vitamins present in carrot helps to promote hair growth. For a thick, shiny, long and strong hair drinking carrot juice every day. It actually can stimulate hair growth. You can also make oil from carrot by mixing the juice with oil and infusing it for 3 days in a warm shady place. Apply this oil to hair to prevent thinning.
8. Ginger
Though ginger may be a little irritant on hair, yet it offers you with thick and long hair. Extract ginger juice from ginger and mix it with oil. Heat it on low flame until the oil changes its color to yellow. Cool it and store it. Use it before washing hair for best results. You may also add onion juice to this mixture.
9. Hibiscus
Add fresh or dried Hibiscus flowers to coconut oil and make into a fine paste. Apply to scalp and hair regularly to reverse hair loss. Allow this mixture to stay on hair and scalp for more than 2 hours for effective results.
10. Aloe Vera
The proteolytic enzymes present in Aloe Vera repair the dead skin cells on the scalp. In a bowl, mix 4 Tbsp Aloe Vera gel, 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 Tbsp honey thoroughly. Apply on hair and massage. Leave it for 15 minutes and then wash your hair.
